Hua Hin Fishing Seasons: What Bites When

April 12, 2026 · 6 min

The Gulf of Thailand has two clear fishing seasons. The dry season, November through April, brings cooler water and the sailfish migration. The wet season, May through October, opens the deep blue for tuna, mahi-mahi and the chance of something bigger further out.

Sailfish are the headline fish of the dry season. We target them on trolled lures and live bait, and they show up reliably from January through March. Most of our sailfish come on the full-day trip, roughly two hours out from Racer Marina.

From May the warm currents push pelagics into our zone. Mahi-mahi gather around floating debris and current lines, and tuna run with the bait schools. Bottom fishing for grouper and snapper stays steady all year.

If you have a particular fish in mind, message us on WhatsApp before you book. We will tell you honestly what is biting that week and which trip gives you the best shot.
